- According to 1851 census he was born in Sutton, Warwickshire. Sutton-under-Brailes is close to Kineton and Oxhill. Sutton Coldfield is much further away. That said I have so far failed to find his birth. I have looked at the IGI records for both Suttons and Southam without success. On the 1841 census he said he wasn't born in Warwickshire; adjacent counties being Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, and Oxfordshire. His death is recorded as 01Dec1854 and he claimed to be 78. That makes his birth 1776.
